Holy Week 2011

My Lenten Season vacation which started last Holy Thursday was spent at home doing movie marathon. Even my son, Justine, was doing some vacation from roaming around the neighborhood since he just stayed at home and was watching his DVD's from morning til night. Though he sometimes play with his toys in between and then back too his marathon.
Cagayan de Oro has a hot climate during the day and then gloomy most of the time on the afternoon from Holy Thursday until Black Saturday. And just last Holy Thursday the water levels of the river in Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in Igbalalay Hills, Cagayan de Oro City rises quickly and that there were 8 people who were washed away.
The eight pilgrims from Barangay Bugo were washed by strong currents as they negotiated the third of nine river crossings en route to the Birhen sa Guadalupe Shrine at Igbalalay Hills in Barangay Balubal, on their way down at around 7 o’clock Thursday evening. Responding rescuers plucked them out of the river an hour later, as they were clinging on to rocks and tree roots at the riverbank. Three were rushed to the hospital with one of them needing confinement due to the severity of her injuries.
