Harvesting Lanzones in Camiguin Island

Yesterday I left Cagayan de Oro to visit my lola and uncle in Camiguin Island. It was a fun experienced visiting my birthplace. Even though going there was a tiring because I rided the "wrong" bus.

I woke up early to catch the early ferry boat to Camiguin. When I arrived at the Agora bus station at 5am there's already a bus ready for leaving so I ride in immediately. And because I slept late the following night I slept in between while on the trip going to Balingoan Port. Until I noticed that it already took me a lot of time traveling from Agora to Balingoan. I looked at my watch and was shocked to see that its already past 9am when supposed to be at 7am ill be in Balingoan Port already. When Arrived at the bus stop in Balingoan there I see the name of the bus I just rided and it was D&C Express I really thought it was Bagong Lipunan bus because it has the same color red color. Duh! I must be still sleepy when I rided that bus...
Tip: Buses like Bagong Lipunan and Bachelors are non-stop buses so the trip just takes 1-2 hours or less from Agora bus station to Balingoan. And this buses offers aircon and non-aircon.
So when I arrived at Balingoan bus station I rode a tricycle that will take me to the Balingoan Port. Shuttle Ferry 11 was about to live at 9:30am so im just minutes early.

I arrived in Camiguin Island past 11am. I headed to my lola's house. Eat. Rest. And on the afternoon we went to Bio-ong to get some lanzones. There were already lots of ripe lanzones everywhere and a lot more waiting to ripe. My lola's working student and a cousin harvested some of the ripe fruits which I will be bringing back to CDO. This was my anticipated activity in this travel because its a chance for me to eat-to-sawa with the lanzones freshly picked from the tree. Its been 3 years since I've had my first experienced of picking lanzones right from the tree. And for a city girl like me this experienced shouldn't be missed!

Tip: Only ripe lanzones should be harvested with the use of knife, unripe lanzones should be untouch and wait until it is ripe to be harvested.

After helping in harvesting lanzones we went home. I could still catch the last trip back to CDO at that time but my lola doesn't want me to travel last trip because ill arrived in CDO already dark and I have a box of fruits to carry, its not safe for me daw. So I went J & A Lagoon instead I roam around watch fishes in there big pond.
Tip: In J & A lagoon you can catch fish from there fishpond and you decide how to cook the fish you catch. They will weight the fish you catch and you'll pay the total kilograms you catch. So the bigger you catch the more expensive depends on the price per kilo. Cooking of the fish on your decide dish is free though. ;)

I also tried there Halo2x while waiting for the freshly catched fish which I ask to be cooked into soup. My lola was right not to travel back to CDO because it was gloomy in CDO and a friend just texted that it was raining hard, lightning was scary and there was power interruption.

The next morning I left Camiguin Island at sunrise...

New Hair Style and Eyebrows

Tired of my old long hair so I cut it down short in layer style. Its not actually very short back view its pass shoulder in V style and when in front view my hair is level with my face. I also had my eyebrows trimmed. ;)

BFB Night

I was not supposed to be invited in BFB night but since it was the day before my birthday and I was having drama that people will treat me for dinner on that night. Janlac, with no choice tag me along to Big Flat Bread with her former workmates.

We ordered the biggest size of Tropical Adventure (Php 968) and 2 pitcher of Big Flat Coolers (Php 148/2L).

It was a night of meeting new cool people. And also a chance to reconnect with old friends like Shezz and Jesse, who are both my ex-housemates na evict din sa bahay ni Big Brother. :D

After BFB we went to Tsibog and Thaoke's for some beer. When the clock strikes 12 they all sung happy birthday to me and let me blow my lighter-candle in my Redhorse-cake.

Thank you so much for the company; Janlac, Shezz, Jesse, Jigz, Hani, Misha, Jingle, Angela and Glen.

Surprise Greetings

I received a surprise card from JRS Express earlier, address from my senior VA. It was a birthday greetings from my boss and team. I was really touch for their effort, time and message. Thanks guys!

I did not celebrate my birthday actually but I did called KFC limketkai for a KFC bucket meal delivery. Justine loves it very much because the design of the bucket and 4 tumblers is inspired from the Movie: Legend of the Guardian.

Thank you also to all my friends who remembered and greeted me. ;)

Passion Fruit

Just enjoyed Passion fruit today which I bought from neighbor selling fruits right outside our house. It's is so delicious! I finished quite a lot of it actually. I can't remember when was the last time I have eaten passion fruits I think way back elementary maybe. Kapag uwian time na sa school, me and my classmates always buy passion fruits na binibenta sa labas ng school. Haiz those were the days...

Gensan's Tuna Festival 2010

One of the unforgettable travels I've had this year was in General Santos. It was my first time to visit the place and that was because of Soccsksargen Summer Safari. When I first arrived in Gensan I was amaze and feel inlove with the place instantly. General Santos is a progressive City and at the same time has the touch of provincial life. Hindi ka mawawalan ng gagawin sa Gensan from adventure activities to city perks name it. Kahit nga ang dami kung na-visit during my weekend in Gensan nabitin pa rin ako... Im actually hoping to be back in the place, spend a long vacation and explore more the beauty of Gensan.

And now that Gensan is celebrating Tuna Festival 2010 this month of September it would have been a lot more fun and enjoyable to visit General Santos because they have lots of festival activities line-up. Some of the activities are:
  • Ms. GenSan 2010
  • Mr. GenSan 2010
  • Pasiklaban Cheer Dance
  • GenSan Pop Idol Year 6
  • Fishdance Hip-Hop Dance Competition
  • GTX Mardi-Gras Competition (Street Dancing)

My Dream Wedding

I happen to visit the day 2 of Kasalan sa Kagay-an 2010 yesterday. I was amaze at the wedding services and products display. Actually medyo na lola ako sa presyo. Ang laki pala ng gastos ng dream wedding ko! :D

I have been wishing for a fairytale church wedding since I was child. Me wearing a beautiful gown and walking down the aisle of Saint Agustin Cathedral. Of course I picked Saint Agustin Cathedral because the aisle is long and it would really showcase my gown na on that day lang masusuot. I am also fascinated with garden wedding but I believe of the sanctity of wedding vows and that being wed in God's house would gave our marriage a strong bond and guidance from God so I go for church wedding. Anyways, a garden wedding would still be possible if we renew wedding vows. ;)

And my dream reception is a garden setting with lots of butterflies flying and flowers around. And for the wedding cake a simple one will do. Also the wedding coverage will not be forgotten because it will capture special moments on that one special day. Oh diba bongga? But looking at the booths at Kasalan sa Kagay-an 2010 my dream wedding will really leave my soon-to-be-husband pockets butas! heheheh
Wedding only happen in your life once so no matter how it is celebrated may it be grand or just a simple family gathering always remember to marry for love. What is important is that the value of marriage that it is binded by love and guided by God.
