30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 15 - A Quest For Healthy Food

Today I went to the grocery to buy fruits an vegetables. I realized that I really need to buy healthy food and overcome laziness in going to the grocery more often.
So when I arrived from grocery its already late and so I requested mom to prepare Eggplant salad. I really like eating eggplant salad specially if there's a lot of tomatoes on it.

One thing I also realized is that lately Ive been drinking to much of soft drinks. When I saw this Nestea Iced tea in the supermarket I immediately bought a couple of litro packs as substitute to softdrinks.

I do hope I can keep up and maintain this healthy lifestyle and slowly cut some unhealthy habits. Health is wealth as they say...

30 Day Blog Challenge: DAY 2 - Something to Nibble On...

Earlier this afternoon my mom asked me if I like to eat Suman, immediately I replied yes! Then she went out and came back bringing Suman and told me the total amount payable for the suman. I really taught she's buying it for me but instead im paying it. lol Mom then made me a cup of coffee to match with my Suman. Forgive me this rarely happens that she served me snacks while im working. ;) I happily finished my snack while working even though the coffee is too sweet for me its like im drinking sugar not coffee, I usually prefer strong coffee thats why. Anyways its the effort that counts... :D

Later this evening im nibbling with this imported sweets given by a friend. I finished the Quacker Chewy Chocolate Chip in a snap. I love it coz its a chocolate coated with oats so it doesn't really taste so sweet. On the other hand, the Candy Cane still in my mouth right now, and ive been nibbling with this for about 2 hours, more or less. lol Its my first time actually to taste a Candy Cane and yes I love it but I am enjoying this slowly because I don't want to ruined my teeth. Im now at the curvy part so I guess ill finish this in no time and will hit the sack. ;)

Chef Hasset Go Cakes Cooking Demo

Last February 19, 2012 I along with fellow CDObloggers attended the  Culinary Institute in Cagayan de Oro Open House. This is actually my second time to visit CIC because I have also been invited to the All You Want Bars!  Pastry Workshop of Chef Hasset go.

This time around its another pastry workshop which is the favorite cakes cooking demo still with Chef Hasset Go. It started early in the morning and I was even late for the orientation. After that we were toured around there school rooms and facilities. In one of the rooms there was an on going class on international cuisine. Ahhh! I cant wait for April to come so I can start with my International Cuisine 5-Day Workshop. ;)

Finally, the workshop started. We were given the menu of each 4 cakes to be baked; Caramel Custard Cake, Concorde, Purple-Jackfruit Cake and Chocolate Truffle Cake. Since the baking is long we were able to witness the baking demo for Caramel Custard Cake and Chocolate Truffle Cake because the other half resume on the afternoon.

Its really fun and interesting learning on how to bake cakes. I myself would love to learn more of it because I want to bake and decorate it according to my taste. However, I opted for the international cuisine workshop this summer because I wanna learn cooking delicious cuisines from different parts of the world first.

That 2 workshops I have attended in CIC, hype up my interest and inspired me to really pursue cooking and baking class. Watching and listening to Chef Hasset Go made it more inspiring because he started young on the pastry industry which dubbed him the youngest pastry chef in the country.  Other than that, because of he knows how to cook different delicious food and he bakes pastries and sweets he found a career and eventually build his own business. And of course not to mention his good-looking features (you guys know what I mean. :D) which every girls weakness is already inspiring because you will be seeing Chef Hasset at CIC as one of the instructors.

La Ilongga At Ororama Food Court

Remembering College days... I used to spend my lunch breaks here at La Ilongga at Ororama Supercenter (on the photo above).
And the photo below which is puso salad is my fave vian. Since its been a long time since I have visited and dine in this place I indulge myself earlier. However, the food seem to taste different, its no longer as tasty as before. Sad. :(

Homemade Macaroni Soup

Our neighbor cooked this delicious macaroni soup. I am not a fan of any macaroni food, even in deserts, but this soup made me realized that macaroni can be delicious too. The ingredients in this soup are eggs, chicken necks, magic sarap and macaroni... That simple, Pinoy style!

Pinoy Delicacy: Kiping

This is what we call kiping. It's main and only ingredient is cassava. How it is done? Well the cassava was grind and then rolled flat on a banana leaf cut into rectangular size. Im sorry I haven't posted some picture on the procedure, I'll shall add it here when our neighbor will cook again kiping. ;)

Now for the sauce on top of it is what we refer locally as "latik". It's actually a coconut milk and sugar mixed together. Cooking latik is not easy coz it needs continuous stirring so that it will not dry out and harden.

Chocolate Buddies

I love chocolates. And as time passes by I have had a few chocolate buddies which satisfies my crave, help hunger moments and even comforted me... So let's check out my latest chocolate buddies.

Kitkat is actually my ultimate midnight buddy lately. Dinibdib ko ata ang slogan nila 'Have a break, have a kitkat'. :D So when I already feel bored at work or hungry I just munch in kitkat.

Back when I was still working at SM CDO Department Store I never forget to buy Samba chocolate balls. So after long hours of work as a cashier this choco balls comforts me.

Last week I was craving of chocolate bars. So I bought a Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut, I usually love Tango Almond Nut but I was in a hurry so just grabbed Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut. Unlucky enough the Cadbury turns up to be disappointing because when I ate it, all I ever tasted was chocolates and raisins no nuts and cashews.

Jonie's Sizzlers and Roast

February 12...

I dine at the newly opened Jonie's in Divisoria.

Most of the food they served are sizzling meals.

Sizzling Steak House

Sizzling Bangus

It's midnight!

And here is my midnight snack for 2 days in a row already. I bought a can of chocolate cookies the last time I went to grocery. And for a healthy lifestyle I now drink milk during midnight instead of the usual coffee.
And while im busy at work my cousin is currently busy with Facebook and her chatmates in Yahoo Messenger....

Why I want to try Sumilao Corn Coffee?

I am actually a coffee addict and I could even drink more than 2 cups a day. Para kuna ngang ginagawang tubig minsan. :D My lola hated me drinking instant coffee and so at times she would made me a native corn coffee but lola now is so old she can no longer move a lot and so my supply of corn coffee already stop. This is the reason why when I discovered from Bukidnon Online about Sumilao Corn Coffee which  is a coffee and the benefits of tea combine and is roasted from organically grown, native, yellow corn that I wanted to try this corn coffee.

Blessed Monday

Yesterday, my boss just decided for a changes on work monitoring. Effective that day we will no longer use Odesk for compensation and work monitoring. Wheeew! What a relief... However, I should make my presence felt everyday by email some work updates or perhaps just to even say I wont be working bcoz I dont feel like working - according to my boss...hahaha My boss really said that, he said he just want to get a picture of what i've been working on since he is paying me anyway. That's kinda light up my Monday afternoon.

And then next to that went to Mhai's place paid my dues and yet again got a new big blue kikay bag. I'm not actually going to buy it since the bag I've been wanting to buy has been sold but not until Mhai said I could use it to carry my lappy. :D

After Mhai's place went to Tapsi Time in Pabayo street to bought tinolang Malasugui, my mom's craving for it. This has been my mom's constant request when I ask what's for dinner, she would instantly answer "tinolang Malasugui lang Beng katong imong ginapalit gani".

And ofcourse my little guy will not be happy if I didn't buy any food for him. So instead of buying Jollibee or Mcdonald kiddie/happy meals went to Dunkin Donuts bought a dozen donut and then availed on the Php 20 Dunkin Donuts glass promo. And just as I thought, when I arrived Justine love the glass and wants to use it already as well as munch on almost half of the donuts. ;)

Studio 3802 Cool Penoy Shirt Design

A big thanks to Shoppingera for tagging me in Facebook about Ramblings of a Princess Studio 3802 T-Shirt Giveaway. In connection to that, I discovered this cool t-shirts available in Studio 3802 which I would love to have. As I was browsing to the albums I saw this Penoy designed shirt.

I instantly fell in love with the shirt when I saw it. Before I use to go home late at night because of work and along with my workmates we will buy and eat Balut and Penoy. And since I don't like to eat the "sisiw" which is found inside the Balut I always ended eating Penoy while the rest enjoyed Balut. And also I influenced my cousin into eating Penoy. She actually doesn't like eating it because she tought it also has a "sisiw" inside but when I told her only Balut has it she now likes it too.
Anyways, this uniquely designed shirt is something I will look forward to having since I love to collect shirts with something eye-catchy print in it. ;)

Studio3802 is having an extended Inventory Sale so check it out!

Orion's Birthday Surprise!

Last Friday was the birthday of my freelance job team mate - Orion. It has been a month-long plan that boss is going to give Orion a gift with the help of the group. It took many gift suggestions before our boss agreed on giving him a surprise birthday instead. However, it was not a typical surprise birthday since Orion is from Pagadian and most of us or should I say the rest of the team are based here in Cagayan de Oro. So as per suggested by no other than myself ;) Orion traveled from Pagadian to Cagayan de Oro with free transportation provided. Our boss chatted him on the day of his birthday that he needs to travel Cagayan de Oro the next day for an emergency meeting with the rest of the team.

So Saturday Orion was pick-up at the terminal, treated to lunch, strolled Limketkai Mall, and enjoyed the teams company playing at the Worlds of Fun. Later in the afternoon they head on to Big Flat Bread for the supposed to be “Meeting”. A surprise Orion was shocked when he taught that BFB crew is just going to sing a Christmas carols at their table but instead they sung a happy birthday song for him. Sadly, I missed that part there! I was a late comer on that day... :P

So when I arrived I just grab a bite of BFB’s Godfather Pizza, finished two sliced of Red Ribbon Chocolate Cake, and took a sip on the Juice Coolers and then we headed to Willsbar Music & Video. The rest of the night was spent with music and a bottle of beer…
