My Own Headset Reviews

When it comes to gadgets I am really not an expert. So when I planned to buy something I ask my techy guy friends on which is a wise investment. Now recently, my boss just recently bought me a new headset. And since I failed to share my experiences about my previous headsets, I’ll start talking it first. The 2 headsets where actually purchase by our web developer which is my senior and is also based here in CDO.

iNtex Computer M/M Headphone Wireless Roaming (IT HP904 FM

The first headset I have was the iNtex Computer M/M Headphone Wireless Roaming (IT HP904 FM). This was given to me by my boss along with the eMachines laptop. It's a 5in1 headset; wireless headphone, wireless net chat, monitoring, FM radio and wired headphone. The headset is comfortable to use aside from the interference you catch when using it. To be able to use it on audio calls and listening to music you will need to fine tune it, just like scanning for a radio station. More often it catches radio signals so you need to scan and reset again and again until you hear the audio you want to listen. Since its wireless you will also enjoy not having to worry about the wire when you move but one downside also is that when you move and the headphone catches interference you sometimes lost the audio you are listening. Definitely not a good headset for me since I am using the headset for my recording task.

Genius Deluxe Coil-Up Cable Headset

So after a month of dealing with the iNtex headset downside, my boss bought another new headset which is the Genius Deluxe Coil-Up Cable. This  headset provides an adjustable headband, coil up cable, rubber mic and In-line VR + Mic mute. It works fine, very comfortable, no interference and the mic is good for recording. However, just recently my Genius headset’s mic is not working anymore. Caller on the other end can’t hardly hear me or worst… can’t really hear me talking. Sayang! 4 months to go nalang sana para mag 1 year na xa.

Tip:
When buying this kind of headset handle with care when rotating the mic down. I had a feeling my mic was damage in the pivot part because of careless up and down rotation of the mic.

Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB

Now that both headsets doesn't have a workable mic, my boss bought me yet another headset. However, this time boss picked the type of headset to purchased. I first browse a Logitech headsets at Amazon. (Boss preferred this coz he is using a logitech headset too) Boss choose a Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB and then asked me to check if it’s available here locally. After looking around at several stores, I finally found the Logitech headset at Interface, Limketkai Mall sold at the price of Php 1, 995. (Amazon Price: 31.99 usd)

Anyways, both the Genius and iNtex headsets are still useful even though it has no mic, it's still usable when listening to music. Hope this post will help you in a way in purchasing your own laptop and headset too!
Tip:
eMachines by Acer D725 does not have a built-in mic, the exact reason why my boss kept on buying me a headset.

A Christmas Gift From Boss

This eMachines by Acer D725 which was issued by my boss for work was officially mine! Just last week my boss called me up first ask me the usual work updates and then the next question was if I want a bonus, and ofcourse I said yes! Then unexpectedly, he ask me how long will be my holiday vacation... My initial reaction was wow! I love my boss... hehehe Imagine your boss asking how many days are you going to have a vacation in addition to your bonus and the laptop! :D
Anyways going back, so I've decided for a 1 week vacation meaning I'll be back working on January 3, 2011. And I do hope my work routine by this time would be normal already since ill be having 1 week vacation. This past few months I am having troubles sleeping early. An d it sucks! So I hope this vacation would really benefit me.

My Work Buddy!

March this year, I've owned my very first laptop, from my 2 months salary which I advanced from my boss. It was a Compaq Presario CQ40-416, it has a 14.1-inch diagonal widescreen display with HDMI, card reader, and USB ports. Which has an AMD Turion X2 processor, standard memory of 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM PC-5300, wireless capabilities, and integrated webcam and microphone.

This has been my work buddy until 2 weeks after I unexpectedly received an eMachines by Acer (D725) issued by my second boss. However, I used the eMachines solely for work because my boss installed a software called Flexiserver that will track my laptop activities. So for safety reasons, I don't use it for personal browsing. :P

My New Laptop Bag

I've been planning of buying big and durable shoulder bag for my laptop. I know backpacks are good for laptops but theres a reason why I want shoulder bags, anyway im going to use it on certain occasions/days. And the reason is shoulder bags matches with kikay dresses. I love wearing sexy dresses almost every time I go out but now I often wear shorts, pants or something casual get-up when I'm bringing my backpack. I was thinking that with my laptop on a shoulder bag I could wear my sexy/kikay dress match with heels. Oh diba! ;)

Unfortunately, yesterday my couz and I went shopping for a bag and guess what I bought? A backpack! :D Yeah! But this time this backpack is more durable than my old one and its black. My laptop is safer because it has thick protection, it's waterproof, it has many compartments for chargers, phones and mouse and it also has its own rain cover even if its already waterprooof.

When I tried it on my back it feel so lite. Both Prexie and Machinegan (my 2 lappy's) can fit inside too. Originally its price is Php 2,200 but they are having a sale so I bought it at the price of Php 1, 759. Its still a wise investment since I love to go anywhere and travel with my laptop. Para kahit saan man ako mapadpad work is with me! ;)

The question now is... Is it okay wearing this backpack with a sexy dress and heels? What do you think?

Goodbye Smartbro! Hello PLDT MyDSL!

Last Monday I freak out when my internet connection is very slow or should I say close to no connection at all. Yes, I can open page for a couple of minutes but then I can't upload even a word document report. Ive been experiencing this slow internet connection for almost 3 months and I have reported the problem to Smartbro with no reply/action. So since my Smartbro plug-it plan is only locked-in for 6 months and thats going to be on September, I immediately applied for a wired connection through PLDT MyDSL. I choose the Php 1,300 per month package which already include unlimited DSL, landline, Watchpad, free installation and modem.

So I applied last Tuesday. They actually told me installation will be after 5 days but it only took 2 days and I am already using PLDT MyDSL now. I really thought it will took me awhile to get internet connection since I have friends whom waited weeks and months before internet connection was installed in PLDT also.

My landline phone can't make calls yet but internet is already working with the following speed:

It is fast. I have tried watch videos on Youtube continuously. I'm crossing my fingers it will be like this everyday.

My Reader's Digest Volume 5!

When I was still in elementary, my uncle influenced us to study a lot and read a lot. One Christmas he gave me and my cousins a Reader's Digest Condensed Books. There are 5 stories in the books:

  • Vermillion by Phyllis A. Whitney
  • Totaled by Frances Rickett and Steven McGraw
  • Ike & Mamie (The Story of the General and His Lady) by Lester David and Irene David
  • The Dark Horse by Rumer Godden
  • Fortress by Gabrielle Lord

This is actually one of my treasured gifts since its the first book that was given to me. I finished reading all the stories in the book when I was already in high school because I was lazy and care more of playing toys rather than reading. The stories in this books is great and I learned a lot.
