Tonkatsu Night

Tonkatsu CDO (8)
Tonkatsu CDO (2)
Got invited to taste the food of the newest restaurant at Centrio Mall - Tonkatsu by Terazawa. It was a rainy Tuesday evening but that didn't stop me to taste the classic favorite in Japanese homes which is the tonkatsu.
Tonkatsu, is a Japanese food which consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet. There are two main types, hire (pork fillet) and rosu (pork loin). It is often served with shredded cabbage.

The dish, Tonkatsu, is showcased, as created by Japanese restaurateur and chef Akinori Terazawa. Chef Terazawa uses the traditional Japanese method of preparing this dish, incorporating aging the meat by wrapping it in white cloth for 3 days. And said that this procedure produces meat that is irresistibly flavorful and juicy.

Kurobuta
Kurobuta, dubbed the angus of pork, is meat from the original strains of Berkshire hogs from Japan.

Iberico
Iberico. Popularly known as "Pata Negra," these Iberian pigs are a special breed found in the south and southwest areas of Spain.

Condiments
Condiments: Tonkatsu sauce, salad dressing, toragashi, sesame seeds.

Chasoba Salad
Chasoba Salad. My personal favorite I just love its taste. It has vegetables, egg, ham, tomatoes, cucumber, pasta and Japanese mayonnaise .

Fried chicken wings
Fried chicken wings.

Pork Karaage
Pork Karaage.

All sets are served with refillable shredded cabbage, tonjiru (miso soup with pork), and your choice of Japanese rice or brown rice. It's my first time to taste shredded cabbage with salad dressing and I love it. It can already fill-in the rice but the delicious Japanese rice is irresistible also. Yes, Im such a rice lover! ^_^

Hire katsu
Hire katsu. The pork meat is locally bought. Its also good to know that among the cities in the Philippines Cagayan de Oro has the tastiest pork meat that really is perfect for tonkatsu.

Seafood Katsu
Seafood Katsu with imperial prawn, oyster and hire.

Frozen Green Tea
Frozen Green Tea. Undeniably my fave as well! This dessert is a 4-layered dessert of egg meringue, green tea ice cream, custard cream and graham crust.

How to Cure a Bad Day

My ingredients to happiness when I'm having a bad day...

So here's one of those days when you start of not good. I was just so disappointed that something I am excited with since last month came to a sad ending a few days before it supposed to happen. I was really upset and in a bad mood that I hate everything and everyone. So I decided not to go home until I cure this negative feeling...

1. Coffee and doughnuts. Sweets is a perfect comfort food for a person with a bitter heart. And Kaffe Kreme is a perfect treat to a coffee addict like me.
Krispy Kreme Centrio

2. Watch a movie that will make you laugh out loud. For the 3rd time Ive watched Diary ng Panget The Movie again! I know... I know... Ive seen this several times already on the big screen but it's just that my feet brought me to the mall and the only thing in my mind is that I need to laugh to erase the bad mood. Well, it was effective because after laughing out loud and feeling so kilig at Eya and Cross, I felt better.

3. Shopping and grocery! The perfect cure I guess... ^_^ Well, getting upset and in a bad mood gave me an excuse to buy something for myself. :D Or it could also be my way of comforting myself since no one will comfort me... Okay lets just believe the first reason because the later sounds bitter. hehe... I also did some grocery after so atleast I wont feel guilty buying un-necessity stuff. And besides when I'm stress grocery shopping is my ultimate therapy. Well, atleast I don't fell sorry if I bought too much because my family can use and eat everything that I bought.

So I found this sale undershirts from Bench. Ah finally! I bought simple tees perfect for my skirts.

After the things I did above here's me, in an OOTD pose, wearing a smile and finally went home feeling better and now ready for work.

Hello Krispy Kreme Cagayan de Oro!

Hello everyone! Krispy Kreme officially opens its doors to all Kagayanons. The long wait is finally over for us.

I was invited for an exclusive Bloggers Tour before the Krispy Kreme opens to the public. I choose this new thrifted dress which comes with a crop top layered on it coz the print on the crop top perfectly fits the occasion. Hello Krispy Kreme CDO!

CDOBloggers had so much fun on that day! We had the chance to tour on the inside kitchen, watch the donuts while it was freshly cook, design our own donuts and yes ofcourse (the most awesome part) tried any Krispy Kreme drinks and donuts.

They also have this game called Krispy Kreme Doughnut personality quiz which helps you find out the doughnut that matches your personality. My answers are mostly D's and my doughnut personality is Caramel Kreme Crunch.

Thank you very much Krispy Kreme for the invitation. Its was a blast day. Thank you also for the awesome souvenirs!! I had a big smile on after I tried my Krispy Kreme tshirt. Finally a freebie that is made for me! I usually receive a larger tshirts so I end up looking like a hanger when Im wearing it.

Love Midnight Snacking?

I actually just bump into this video commercial from Athena milk while browsing online. I immediately got attracted to the question they ask. Yes I love midnight snacking its something that keeps or helps me stay awake while working till the sun comes out. Workig graveyard shift is no fun for right now anymore. I cant concentrate on the task at hand because all I think is sleep. So I diverted my attention to games or food. My fave foods are:

Ding Dong Mixed Nuts - I don't like the nuts but I like the cashew and green peas on it.

Rurouni Kenshin For the Second Time

Rurouni Kenishin (Live Action) is way to perfect that everyone cannot just watch it just once. The movie is already a blockbuster on every country and the continuous request for extendedly screening is overflowing.  Thank God Philippines is one of the few countries who are given a chance to watch it the soonest this year and has been given extended showing. Since I know for a fact that there are some countries are still requesting for the movie to be shown on their Cinemas. ^_^
Here in the Philippines, the movie has already been extended twice at SM Cinemas nationwide. A lot others more are wanting to watch it and some others still cant get over with the movie like me. Today was said to be the last day of showing, so I tag along my cousin to watch it again for the last time for me and for the first time for her. :D
We first grab our dinner at Classic Savory SM before watching the movie. Thanks to cousin for the treat! Both my cousin and I are first timers to dine at Classic Savory. Since I already heard about the their specialty of the house which is grilled chicken we ordered a Combo meal for 2. The Combo meal, which can either be good for 1 or 2, is served with 2 drinks a half size grilled chicken, Toron, pancit and Salt & Pepper Squid. I love the Salt & Pepper Squid its to die for... The pancit also has a good taste. And the grilled chicken... well my cousin said it was good and I do agree too, the gravy also taste good but we really have not consume it cause you can eat the chicken without the gravy.
I got curious on the pictures of soups displayed on our table, so I ordered the corn soup which is sold at Php 35.00 as an add-on on your meals. Its my additional fave at Classic Savory I must say.

I originally plan to watch the movie at 3:15 PM schedule but my cousin has some things to do so we ended buying the last full show schedule which is at 9:00 PM. ^_^
And this is how I say goodbye to Rurouni Kenshin... Wish there will be a sequel of this movie and that the DVD copy will be available locally also. Arigato Gozaimasu to Warner Brothers for producing this movie! :)

That Trip To Manila

Off to Manila with my cousin and her boyfriend.
It was supposed to be my vacation escape of the year but it turn out not that way. To the last minute my cousin change schedule so instead of staying in Manila for 2 days we just had 1 day to stroll around. With that the itinerary that I've planned didn't happened also. Here it is:
Day 1
Zoobic Safari (PHP 495)
Activities: features a wide range of habitats like; Tiger Safari, Croco Loco, Savannah, Rodent World, Serpentarium, Aetas Trail, Petting Show and Animal Moozeum.
Marine Park(Php 500) Featuring whale and sea lion shows.
Day 2
Ocean Park Snow Village and then shop at Mall of Asia
When we arrived we rest and had lunch at the hotel. And then off to Mall of Asia for a stroll and dinner. Bought a cellphone for uncle at Nokia Store.
Had my first taste of New Orleans cuisine. Dinner at Gumbo.
Shop for make up at Etude House Mall of Asia.
I was determined to fulfill even just Day 1 of my plan but the travel time will eat out the hours because instead of the 1:45 hours planned it was said that it takes 3 hours to travel Subic. And we still need to take her boyfriend to the airport for his international flight in the morning of Day 1. Instead our day was just spent in Baclaran. We visited the church first, offer our prayer and off to the market and shop. I still haven't give up yet and I suggested ocean park coz I really wanted to witness the Snow Village and will going to stroll at Newport Mall in the evening and grab dinner there but my cousin isn't feeling well. She doze off the whole afternoon. On the evening we went back to Mall of Asia for dinner. we dine at Bulgogi Brothers, a Korean restaurant. The menu is expensive but its all worth with the great costumer service and great tasting food. :)

The next day our flight was scheduled at 2 PM, so we still have time to buy Krispy Kreme or JCo Donuts for pasalubong, but I just doze myself off the whole morning. I even had to drag myself off to bed to prepare to leave and say my goodbye to Manila.
We had a super delayed flight that time also. Boarding time was supposed to 2:25 PM but instead we board the the plane around 3PM and then we stayed at the plane for almost 2 hours because there was a traffic congestion on the planes. We arrived CDO already very late around 6PM. Hmmmm So Manila is holding me back huh! :D

Pink Friday: My Selca and Strawberry Milk Tea Drink

It is yet another pink Friday thoughts! This time im a bit of excited for Pink Friday its because I unintentionally got an all pink selca with my strawberry milk tea drink.

For those who are confuse... Selca is a Korean language meaning a photo of yourself. ;) Another Korean language learned today right? :D

Last Wednesday, the some CDObloggers were invited for Tita Fanies-Xavier branch opening. After the delicious dinner we headed to the just recently opened Wang's Tea Fuzion to try the milk tea since most of us haven't try them. Honestly, it was my first try of drinking milk tea... They recommended Wintermelon Milk Tea and Honeydew Milk Tea, they said its tasty and my a fellow CDOblogger Bang who already tried it, agreed that it is tasty. However, when I look at the menu Strawberry Milk Tea catch my attention immediately and so I ordered it instead.

Verdict! At first I didn't like the taste, but eventually got used with it and its not so bad anymore. I think my coffee addiction has to do with me not liking it much and also the given fact that im not a fan of tea. I'll surely try it again next time to get use with the taste. There has been a lot of Milk Tea businesses arising in the city already and most of them including Wang's Tea Fuzion offered free wifi also. It's going to be a healthier alternative place to work or hangout other than the my suking coffee shops.
